Western Yilgarn NL has obtained three core exploration licences over its 100 per cent-owned Gascoyne gold projects in Western Australia.
The WA Mines Department has granted the company exploration licences E09/2986, E09/2987, and E09/2988, giving the company access to over 201 square kilometres in a highly prospective part of the Glenburgh gold district.
The Glenburgh district is an emerging frontier for gold exploration, currently hosting a resource of 16.3 million tonnes at 1.0 g/t gold.
Western Yilgarn’s new holdings share a similar lithological and structural framework as the Glenburgh system, being hosted within the Dalgaringa Supersuite.
This lithological package is known to host significant gold mineralisation in shears and quartz veins, including high-grade shoots similar to the ‘Zone 126’ deposit.
Recent high-level geophysical interpretation by Core Geophysics has provided a major boost to the company’s exploration strategy.
By reviewing historical magnetic, radiometric, and gravity data, the study identified seven priority drill targets that were previously unrecognised.
These targets show geophysical signatures that mirror those found at the adjacent Glenburgh deposits, suggesting the presence of analogous structural controls.
“We are extremely pleased to have secured the Gascoyne gold project, which offers outstanding potential to delineate gold resources comparable to those of Benz Mining Corp’s Glenburgh mineralised system,” said Western Yilgarn Non-Executive Director, Pedro Kastellorizos.
“The high-level geophysical interpretation conducted by Core Geophysics has identified multiple new drill targets, including several previously unrecognised by Western Yilgarn.”
The company noted that the tenements remain completely untested by drilling, despite being situated on the direct southeast continuation of known mineralised trends.
The structural complexity of the area, characterised by major faults and shear zones within the Dalgaranga-Moogie contact zone, provides a fertile environment for both bulk-tonnage and high-grade gold discoveries.
With exploration licences now granted, Western Yilgarn is positioned to begin systematic testing of these targets.
The proximity to existing multi-million-ounce potential infrastructure and the geological equivalence to a proven gold system make this an early-stage but potentially profitable investment by the company.
