Widgie Nickel Limited (ASX:WIN) has returned significant results from discovery drilling south of the Gillett prospect, confirming that mineralisation continues to the south of Gillett in an area previously considered “closed off”.
Gllett, which has a resource of 23,400 tonnes of nickel, forms part of the Widgie South project area within the broader Mt Edwards project, along with Widgie 3 (9,160 tonnes of nickel) and Widgie Townsite (39,300 tonnes of nickel).
Widgie Managing Director Steve Norregaard said drilling at Widgie South continued to pay dividends with further great results both within the existing resource shape and outside.
Norregaard said: “The latest results complement our previous results at Gillett, reaffirming grade continuity within the current deposit and upside potential.
“Hole 23MERCD017 represents a very significant intercept well beyond the southernmost drilling at Gillett to date.
“Widgie South drilling is set to continue for the remainder of the first half of 2023 as we further expand, refine and define the limits to the mineralisation.”
