Capricorn Metals has delivered another strong quarter of operations at its Karlawinda gold project in Western Australia.
Capricorn said the mine produced 30,476 ounces of gold for the December quarter, in line with its fiscal 2026 mine plan. The mine produced 62,794 ounces of gold for the year to date and on track to achieve the upper end of its guidance at 115,000 to 125,000 ounces of gold at an all-in sustaining cost of AU$1,530 to AU$1,630 per ounce.
Capricorn reported a recovery rate of 89.9 per cent for the quarter, compared to a recovery rate of 90.3 per cent in the quarter ended September 30, 2025.
The company reported cash and gold on hand of AU$444 million at the end of December, compared with a balance of AU$394 million at the end of the September quarter.
The cash build for the quarter was AU$88.8 million before total capital expenditure of AU$39 million at its expansion project and Mt Gibson gold project.
The company attributed the strong quarterly gold production to continued achievement of post expansion mining run and allowed it to meet the development requirements of the Karlawinda expansion project.
The mining fleet achieved its planned pit face positions to achieve budget gold production, while also delivering the required pre-stripping and infrastructure materials for the expansion project.
Capricorn made advanced progress at Karlawinda following approval of its mining proposal and mine closure plan by the Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety in July 2025.
Bulk earthworks were completed and concrete works in the plant site were progressed, with major pours in the milling, crushing and CIL areas completed.
Structural, mechanical and piping contractors have been mobilised to site.
