
Australian mineral exploration company — Aurumin Limited — has announced the grant of three significant tenements as part of its esteemed 881koz Au Sandstone project, approximately 520km northeast of Perth.
The milestone is a major step forward in the company’s Sandstone Operations, which also encompasses the Birrigrin and Johnson Range Projects, collectively amounting to 946koz Au.
Aurumin Managing Director Brad Valiukas said: “We are pleased to be solidifying our footprint in the Sandstone region with these tenement grants, these are good, prospective additions to our exploration ground — including directly adjacent to Aurumin’s existing mining tenements.
“The company is narrowing its focus to the Sandstone region, following the divestment of Karramindie and with two divestments in progress at Mt Dimer.”
Valiukas said the company is committed to generating critical mass for future production at Sandstone.
The newly granted tenement E57/1294 adjoins Aurumin’s Central Sandstone mining tenements to the north-east.
It is notable for the Hacks Creek Structure, which runs NNW through the length of the tenement.
This area has predominantly undergone first pass regional exploration, including surface sampling and wide-spaced reconnaissance drilling.
Tenements E57/1302 and E57/1371 are crucial in consolidating the greenstone trend known for hosting the Bellchambers, Bulchina, and Golden Raven mineralisation.
E57/1371 is particularly significant as it encompasses the historical Muriel Chapman mine, a site of early 1900s mining activity with reported yields of 106t at 15.1g/t for 51.5oz.
E57/1302 remains largely untested by drilling, with only six drill holes completed to date, while E57/1371 has seen 22 first pass Rotary Air Blast (RAB) holes.
Aurumin is actively engaged in compiling and validating data for these project areas — this includes information from open file reports and the historical Troy Resources Database, acquired as part of the Sandstone Project.
The company is now set to commence on-ground exploration activities shortly, marking a significant phase in realizing the full potential of these tenements.
