C29 Metals Limited (ASX:C29) has been granted Category 4 exploration approval for its newly acquired tenements at the Ulytau Uranium Project in Kazakhstan.
This regulatory milestone allows the company to immediately commence comprehensive geological work across both its northern and southern tenement areas.
The Category 4 permit enables C29 to conduct a range of exploration activities, including airborne geophysical and ground-based surveys, field mapping, and soil sampling.
However, it does not include drilling operations.
C29 has engaged Intrepid Geophysics to oversee a helicopter-borne survey covering tenements EL1860 and EL2786.
This survey will capture electromagnetic, magnetic, and radiometric data to enhance targeting efforts.
The collected data will undergo advanced processing using Intrepid Geophysics’ “Moksha” 2.5D inversion technique, providing detailed insights into the subsurface geology.
In addition to the Category 4 approval, C29 has received a separate permit for drilling at the Ulytau tenement (EL1860).
Mobilisation for the initial diamond drilling program is set to commence by the end of this week.
The drilling will target high-priority areas to validate historical data and define new mineralised zones within the uranium-rich Ulytau tenement.
C29 has secured strong local support for its operations, as evidenced by a Social Support Agreement with the district government of Aksuyek, a community located approximately 20 kilometres from the Ulytau project.
This agreement ensures that the project aligns with the social and economic interests of the local community.
Shannon Green, Managing Director of C29 Metals, expressed enthusiasm about the approval, stating: “It is very exciting to have the Category four (4) exploration approval granted enabling our geology team to immediately commence both boots on ground and airborne field works.
“This once again demonstrates the positive operating environment in Kazakhstan and the support the company is enjoying.”
Looking ahead, C29 plans to expand its exploration activities to the northern tenement (EL2826) in Q1 of 2025, building on findings from the initial survey phase.
This strategic approach aims to systematically evaluate the potential of the Ulytau Uranium Project and further strengthen C29’s position in Kazakhstan’s uranium sector.
