Forrestania Resources has delivered a substantial upgrade to the mineral resource estimate (MRE) at its British Hill Deposit in Western Australia, with a 131 per cent uplift from the previous MRE.
The updated JORC-compliant boosts total gold resources to 126,290 ounces at 1.50 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, driven by a recent 19-hole, 4,764-metre drilling program that included 693 metres of diamond tails.
The project achieved a 180 per cent uplift in higher-confidence indicated resources, which now stand at 1,878,500 tonnes at 1.43 g/t gold for 86,080 ounces. The remaining 40,210 ounces are categorised as inferred resources. The calculations apply a 0.5 g/t gold cut-off grade.
Situated on a granted mining lease 75 kilometres south-southeast of Southern Cross in Western Australia’s Yilgarn Mineral Field, British Hill forms part of the company’s broader Forrestania Hub.
Forrestania Resources Chairman David Geraghty noted that the expansion reinforces British Hill’s role as a cornerstone asset for the explorer.
“British Hill continues to expand, with a more than doubling of the previous Mineral Resource Estimate and a material increase in the proportion of higher-confidence Indicated Resources,” Geraghty said.
“The combination of resource growth, ongoing drilling success and excellent regional infrastructure positions British Hill as a key asset within our broader Forrestania gold strategy.”
Further growth appears on the horizon. The company has secured approvals for an additional 100-hole drilling program, with three reverse circulation (RC) rigs actively operating on site. Current drilling remains focused on extending mineralisation along strike and down-dip.
“With three RC drilling rigs on site and drilling continuing, we believe there remains significant opportunity to further expand the resource base and enhance project economics as we progress technical studies and evaluate future development pathways,” Geraghty added.
Looking ahead, Forrestania plans to initiate conceptual mining studies alongside metallurgical test work to evaluate future development pathways and refine project economics.
