Golden Dragon Mining Ltd. has uncovered major regional-scale gold anomalies across its Coodardy/Behring Bore target area, supporting the presence of a much larger, continuous gold-bearing system.
Results from an 827-hole maiden auger drilling program identified two large, coherent gold-in-soil anomalies extending over a three-kilometre strike.
Located within the company’s broader Cue gold project in Western Australia’s Murchison Goldfields, the anomalies align along a northeast orientation and recorded a peak value of 720 parts per billion (ppb) gold.
The newly identified geochemical corridor links four known prospects, Curtis Find, Behring Bore, Coodardy, and Piston, into a unified mineralised footprint.
The gold anomalism demonstrates a strong spatial association with key orogenic pathfinder elements, specifically arsenic and antimony, pointing to a structurally controlled fault or shear zone.
Golden Dragon Mining Managing Director Simon Buswell-Smith said the auger program opened up the broader target area well beyond the limits of previous drilling.
“The scale, strength and coherence of the gold-in-soil anomalism, together with its strong association with arsenic and antimony, are highly encouraging and consistent with a classic orogenic gold system,” Buswell-Smith said.
“Importantly, the identification of a continuous northeast-trending anomaly linking multiple known prospects highlights the potential for a much larger, structurally controlled mineralised system than previously recognised.”
Golden Dragon is currently progressing heritage clearances and securing drilling contractors to conduct targeted drill testing along the prospect.
The company is also continuing slimline reverse circulation (RC) drilling at Behring Bore and Coodardy to extend known high-grade zones.
Recent drill intercepts at Coodardy returned impressive shallow grades, including 12 metres at 6.5 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 44 metres (incorporating four metres at 17.6 g/t gold), building on earlier high-grade hits such as four metres at 21.37 g/t gold.
