Terrain Minerals has completed a four-hole diamond drilling program at its wholly owned Lightning Gold Project within the Smokebush tenement M59/796 in Western Australia’s Murchison region, approximately 350 kilometres north of Perth.
The program, designed to deliver final technical inputs for the upcoming resource estimate, comprised four drill holes labelled SBDD001 to SBDD004, totalling 671 metres.
This included 340 metres of reverse circulation pre-collar drilling and 331 metres of diamond drilling tails.
The campaign was specifically structured to capture high-quality structural and density data, essential for resource modelling and classification.
Data collected during the drilling program includes oriented structural measurements and bulk density readings across multiple lithologies.
These inputs are considered critical in reducing geological uncertainty and strengthening confidence in the continuity of mineralisation across both the Lightning and Monza structures.
Drill hole placement was determined by the consulting geologist responsible for compiling and signing off on the Mineral Resource Estimate, ensuring that the program targeted priority zones and delivered robust datasets.
Assay results from the diamond drilling have returned high-grade gold intercepts, reinforcing previous findings from reverse circulation drilling.
Notably, hole SBDD002 intersected 3.4 metres grading 4.96 grams per tonne gold from a depth of 213.6 metres, including a higher-grade interval of 1 metre at 10.93 grams per tonne.
These results support the presence of consistent higher-grade mineralisation at depth and align with the established geological model for the project.
The latest drilling results are consistent with earlier reverse circulation outcomes, providing validation of the geological interpretation across both key mineralised structures.
This consistency is considered important in underpinning the reliability of the resource estimate and demonstrates continuity of gold mineralisation along strike and at depth.
With the completion of this program, Terrain Minerals now has a drilling database of approximately 16,000 metres, comprising 97 reverse circulation holes and four diamond holes.
This comprehensive dataset forms the foundation for the initial Mineral Resource Estimate and supports the transition of the Lightning Gold Project from exploration into a defined resource phase.
The completion of diamond drilling represents a major de-risking milestone for the project.
The addition of density and structural data significantly reduces uncertainty in the resource modelling process and enhances confidence in the geological framework.
As a result, the company is well-positioned to deliver its maiden resource estimate on schedule.
Looking ahead, Terrain Minerals has outlined a clear pathway for further growth beyond the initial resource.
Mineralisation at the Lightning Gold Project remains open along strike and at depth, indicating potential for resource expansion.
The company also plans to commence mining studies in parallel with ongoing exploration activities, aimed at advancing the project toward development.
The July 2026 Mineral Resource Estimate is expected to be a key value catalyst for Terrain Minerals, providing a formal quantification of the project’s gold inventory and setting the stage for future development decisions.
