MB Gold Ltd. has discovered a promising new gold zone at its Marble Bar gold project in Western Australia’s Pilbara region.
The discovery follows the receipt of highly positive assay results from its maiden reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at the Twin Veins East prospect.
The new high-grade results sit 500 metres east along strike from the previously identified high-grade shoots in the central Twin Veins area.
The pick of the shallow hits from the latest drilling includes two metres at 6.73 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 39 metres, including a standout one metre at 13.12 g/t gold from 40 metres; three metres at 2.31 g/t gold from 82 metres and one metre at 6.8 g/t gold from 76 metres.
The mineralisation at Twin Veins East is hosted within quartz veining in mafic to felsic volcaniclastics featuring strong sericite alteration, the same geological signature observed in the core Twin Veins prospect.
Importantly, the findings validate the company’s geological model and underscore the broader potential of the 1.5-kilometre-long gold-in-soil geochemical anomaly at Twin Veins.
MB Gold CEO Logan Barber said the discovery of a new high-grade zone at Twin Veins East was an exceptional addition to the project.
“In particular, a strong two metres at 6.73 grams per tonne gold from 39 metres, including a high-grade section of one metre at 13.12 grams per tonne gold, validate our geological model and systematic exploration approach as we test the areas along strike from Twin Veins and further afield to Douglas Find and Razorback,” Barber said.
With final assays now in for the Phase 1 program across both the Twin Veins and Douglas Find prospects, attention turns to Phase 2 drilling.
Preparations are already underway for this next phase, which will include extensional drilling at Twin Veins and Douglas Find, alongside maiden testing of the regional Razorback target.
