Tulla Resources Plc (ASX:TUL) has released results from the initial 8,000-metre drilling campaign undertaken by Mineral Resources Limited (ASX:MIN), based on the Lithium JV it entered into with Mineral Resources, Pantoro South Pty Ltd in December of last year.
The initial 8,000 metre drilling program was focused on 1.6-kilometres of strike where elevated lithium values were returned from rock chip sampling of outcropping pegmatites.
These were identified in initial reconnaissance work undertaken by Pantoro as part of its evaluation of the broader potential of the Norseman tenement package.
No prior work on the lithium potential had been conducted and this program is the first drilling campaign on the tenement.
The drilling has confirmed the presence of lithium bearing pegmatites with significant results returned including:
- 9m at 1.26% lithium and 151ppm tantalum from 30m.
- 8m at 1.10% lithium and 118ppm tantalum from 53m.
- 6m at 1.02% lithium and 103ppm tantalum from 64m.
- 6m at 1.03% lithium and 146ppm tantalum from 39m.
- 2m at 1.79% lithium and 202ppm tantalum from 42m.
- 3m at 1.47% lithium and 125ppm tantalum from 134m.
- 3m at 1.24% lithium and 248ppm tantalum from 64m.
- 3m at 1.23% lithium and 143ppm tantalum from 62m.
Pantoro South Pty Ltd is the Manager of the unincorporated JV with the Company in respect to certain minerals at Norseman, including gold and lithium.
Tulla Resources executive director Mark Maloney said: “The diversification of our asset base is an important part of our strategy to drive shareholder value.
The first results from our lithium asset from the Buldania area are encouraging and we look forward to developing this asset with our Lithium JV partners.”
Tulla’s flagship asset is a 50% interest in the Central Norseman Project, a historic gold province near the town of Norseman in the Goldfields of Western Australia, which commenced operations in 1935.
The other 50% in the Project is held by ASX listed company Pantoro Limited through its wholly owned subsidiary, Pantoro South Pty Ltd via a farm-in and joint venture agreement dated 14 May 2019. Pantoro South is the Manager of the JV.
The JV assets include gold, lithium and nickel.
