Global Lithium Resources Ltd. has signed a memorandum of understanding with Southern Ports Authority for future exports from its flagship Manna lithium project near Kalgoorlie, Western Australia.
The agreement establishes a framework for cooperation and export logistics for spodumene concentrate to be exported through the Port of Esperance.
Under the terms of the agreement, Global Lithium and Southern Ports will work together to assess the commercial and technical viability of exporting up to 240,000 metric tonnes per year of spodumene product through the Port of Esperance.
The agreement will cover the supply of existing port infrastructure and services, in-loading and out-loading of product and temporary stockpiling of product.
Global Lithium Managing Director Dianmin Chen said securing efficient and reliable logistics was important for the Manna lithium project.
“This non-binding MOU with Southern Ports marks an important step in formalising our intentions to work together to explore the best possible export solutions through the Port of Esperance,” Chen said.
“We look forward to working closely with Southern Ports as we advance towards a final investment decision for the Manna Project next year.”
