Strickland Metals Ltd. has announced an executive and board revamp as it prepares to pivot its Rogozna gold and base metals project in Serbia from discovery towards project development.
Under the succession plan, Managing Director Paul L’Herpiniere will step down by the end of 2026 once a replacement is appointed, while long-serving Chairman Anthony McClure will relinquish the chair to non-executive director Sandra Bates, effective October 1.
The board overhaul marks a shift for the miner following its 2024 acquisition of Rogozna, which has since developed into one of Europe’s largest undeveloped mineral assets.
L’Herpiniere, who has overseen the Serbian asset for nearly a decade across its exploration and evaluation phases, will remain at the helm during the executive search to manage ongoing study workstreams and technical transitions.
Outgoing Chairman Anthony McClure will remain on the board as a non-executive director to focus on other business interests while continuing to lend strategic oversight.
Meanwhile, non-executive director Trent Franklin will step down entirely following the company’s annual general meeting in November after more than five years of service.
Incoming Chair Sandra Bates joined the Strickland board in June, bringing extensive international resource finance, corporate governance, and Balkan operational experience. Her background includes former executive roles at Predictive Discovery and Adriatic Metals.
L’Herpiniere expressed pride in transforming Rogozna into a major emerging asset through disciplined technical work.
“It has been a privilege to lead Strickland through a transformative period in the company’s evolution and to work with a highly capable team,” L’Herpiniere said.
“Through disciplined exploration and technical work, we have transformed Rogozna into one of Europe’s most significant undeveloped gold and base metals projects.”
Incoming Chair Bates said the company holds an exciting opportunity to progress Rogozna towards full production while expanding internal capabilities across mine development, ESG, and project finance.
