Golden Horse Minerals Limited (ASX: GHM) has been awarded $77,500 in co-funding under the Western Australian government’s Exploration Incentive Scheme (EIS) to advance exploration at its Hopes Hill Project near Southern Cross in the Yilgarn region.
The grant will support two deep diamond drill holes aimed at testing the depth extensions of gold mineralisation and improving geological understanding at Hopes Hill.
The company also plans to conduct down-hole geophysical surveys, targeting potential off-hole conductors that may indicate pyrrhotite-rich gold zones.
Managing Director and CEO Nicholas Anderson welcomed the funding, stating: “We are thrilled to have received support from the EIS for our Hopes Hill Project.
“This funding is a strong endorsement of the prospectivity of our project and enables us to significantly accelerate our planned exploration activities.
“We thank the Western Australian government for their continued support of exploration companies, and we look forward to unlocking further value from this exciting project.”
The EIS is a competitive state government initiative managed by the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS) through the Geological Survey of Western Australia (GSWA), designed to stimulate exploration in under-explored regions and support the long-term sustainability of the state’s resources sector.
Hopes Hill is a strategic asset within the Southern Cross Greenstone Belt, an area renowned for its gold endowment.
Historic mining at Hopes Hill produced 2.9 million tonnes for 216,000 ounces of gold, with previous operations limited to shallow depths of 90 metres.
Recent exploration by Golden Horse Minerals has focused on identifying deeper mineralisation and understanding the geological controls, with the new EIS-funded drilling campaign set to target these extensions.
The co-funding is expected to accelerate Golden Horse’s broader exploration strategy and resource definition work at Hopes Hill, positioning the company to unlock further value in one of Western Australia’s most established gold districts.
