Kairos Minerals has expanded its Western Australia Mt York gold project footprint with the acquisition of Trek Metals’ Pincunah project.
The Pincunah project comprises four exploration licences and one pending application. The deal adds more than 150 square kilometres to Kairos’ Mt York gold project.
The acquisition is structured as a two-tranche cash and shares deal with additional performance rights.
Kairos will pay AU$200,000 in the first tranche, split evenly between cash and its shares, and a further AU$200,0000 in performance rights vesting upon the definition of a 50,000-ounce gold resource at a minimum grade of 1 gram per tonne of gold within five years.
Kairos Managing Director Peter Turner said the Pincunah project has encouraging historic drill hits, which point towards the potential to host nearby satellite gold mineralisation at the Mt York project.
“The acquisition of Trek’s Pincunah project adds to our commanding land position around Mt York and ties up the belt for future exploration and discoveries, complementing the additional 367 square kilometres of PLS ground around Mt York where Kairos owns the gold rights.
“We completed our largest extensional resource drilling campaign at Mt York in the company’s history in 2025, and we are now preparing to deliver an updated mineral resource estimate for the project later this quarter, which will, for the first time, include the 1,500 metres extension of Mt York’s Main Hill deposit to the north.”
Kairos plans to fly a large-scale airborne electromagnetic survey over its enlarged tenement position around Mt York.
The company will merge the new data for the remaining areas into the regional foundation dataset once flown. This will allow for immediate target generation over the terrain and provide a pipeline of projects for systematic drill testing.
Kairos plans to drill at Carlindi in the first half of 2026, where the target is high-grade, near-surface gold.
The company is well-funded for an accelerated exploration campaign at Mt York with a cash balance of more than AU$30 million after a capital raising in October 2025.
Next steps include transferring the licences, incorporating Trek’s geochemical and drilling data into Kairos’ database, delivering the updated Mt York resource estimate in late March, and completing a prefeasibility study.
