Pantoro Gold Ltd. will commence development on its third producing underground mine at its Norseman gold project in Western Australia.
The company will start development toward O’Briens Reef in fiscal 2027, following the completion of dewatering and rehabilitation of the Bullen Decline.
Pantoro Gold is expecting first ore development at O’Briens during the December quarter, with ore from O’Briens expected to deliver average diluted mill grades exceeding six grams per tonne over the life of the current mineral resource.
The company will also commence development of the Crown South ore zone in the March 2027 quarter, with both ore zones remaining open in all directions, with drilling ongoing to test extensions.
A fifth underground drill is set to arrive at Norseman in April and will be deployed to accelerate exploration across the Mainfield.
Pantoro Gold Managing Director Paul Cmrlec said: “Work in the Mainfield has progressed extremely well during the past year with significant rehabilitation, new development and extensive underground diamond drilling completed.
“Drilling results have confirmed the presence of multiple high-grade mineralised zones and support development of our first new producing area within the prolific Norseman Mainfield.
“Importantly, ongoing drilling continues to demonstrate the significant scale of the Mainfield, providing confidence that O’Briens will be the first of several new underground mining areas to be developed in the coming years.”
The Norseman gold project is located in the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia, at the southern end of the highly productive Norseman-Wiluna greenstone belt and is one of the highest-grade goldfields within the Yilgarn Craton.
Historically, Norseman has produced more than 5.5 million ounces of gold since operations began in 1935.
Pantoro Gold is focused on scaling production at Norseman, initially targeting 100,000 ounces per year and aiming to grow to over 200,000 ounces annually.
