Terrain Minerals Limited (ASX: TMX) has reported its strongest gold results to date at the 100 per cent-owned Smokebush Project in Western Australia, with drilling at the Lightning prospect intersecting multiple thick, high-grade zones of mineralisation.
The company completed a 4,995-metre reverse circulation drill program that achieved an 80 per cent hit rate, intersecting gold in 17 of 21 holes.
Highlights include 13 metres at 8.13 grams per tonne gold from 122 metres, including 2 metres at 48.22 g/t; 17 metres at 3.43 g/t from 147 metres, including 2 metres at 17.17 g/t; 22 metres at 2.71 g/t from 105 metres; and 1 metre at 18.04 g/t from 124 metres.
These results establish Lightning as a robust and growing gold system, with mineralisation remaining open both along strike and at depth.
Terrain said pending silver and base metal assays are expected to further underscore the polymetallic potential of the project.
Executive Director Justin Virgin said: “This program has delivered some of the strongest results Terrain has achieved to date.
“The consistency of mineralisation, with multiple thick and high-grade intercepts across Lightning, confirms the strength of the system and validates our exploration strategy.”
Looking ahead, the company plans follow-up drilling to test depth and strike extensions, alongside expanded induced polarisation surveying at the Wildflower prospect to generate additional targets.
Assays pending for silver and base metals are also expected to guide future work.
Terrain has outlined a pathway including the lodgement of a mining lease and progression toward a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate in 2026.
Located in Western Australia’s Murchison region, Smokebush sits within an established production corridor that includes Capricorn Metals’ Mt Gibson Project, 29Metals’ Golden Grove, and Vault Minerals’ Rothsay mine.
This positioning provides access to existing infrastructure and supports Terrain’s forward exploration and development strategy.
With systematic exploration progressing and a committed plan to advance Smokebush, Terrain said it is well placed to generate material shareholder value over the next 12 to 18 months.
