Regis Resources has reported its sixth consecutive year of underground growth in its mineral resource and ore reserve estimates across its projects in Western Australia.
The company saw an increase in its gold inventory, underpinned by a disciplined exploration approach and deepening geological knowledge at its Duketon and Tropicana assets.
Group mineral resources increased to 8.3 million ounces (Moz) and ore reserves increased to 2Moz from 7.5Moz and 1.7Moz, respectively at December 31, 2024.
The standout performer of the update was the Garden Well Underground operation at Duketon. Following successful drilling and technical work, the ore reserve at the site grew by a massive 120 per cent, adding 257,000 ounces (koz) after mining depletion to reach a total of 474koz.
Duketon Reserves jumped by 30 per cent to be 38Mt at 1.1 grams per tonne (g/t) for 1,389koz gold.
Jim Beyer, Regis’ Managing Director and CEO said: “This update continues to support our long-held confidence that Duketon and Tropicana have significant ongoing underground mine potential, as we deliver a sixth consecutive year of underground Mineral Resource and Ore Reserve growth.
“This has been a direct outcome of the team’s deepening geological knowledge and their disciplined, systematic approach to discovery and Reserve conversion. This work has and continues to deliver significant value to our business.”
At the Tropicana gold mine, a joint venture with AngloGold Ashanti, underground ore reserve growth also outpaced mining depletion. Since 2018, total underground additions at Tropicana have exceeded depletion by approximately 500,000 ounces, reinforcing the world-class status of the asset.
The company also announced an initial mineral resource estimate of 69koz for Southern Star, which Regis acquired in 2025.
The company noted that mineralisation remains open down plunge at the major Rosemont and Garden Well centres, suggesting further growth is likely.
Work is also progressing at the Ben Hur deposit to convert resources into mineable reserves.
