Miramar Resources is preparing to drill a range of gold, copper and silver targets at its projects in Western Australia in the first quarter of 2026.
Miramar will drill test the high-priority Blackfriars and Highway gold targets within the company’s Gidji joint venture gold project near Kalgoorlie, and the high-grade Joy Helen copper-lead-silver prospect at the Chain Pool project in the Gascoyne.
Miramar’s Executive Chairman, Allan Kelly, said the company was excited to be hitting the ground running in 2026 with several key targets across multiple projects.
“Following last year’s successful capital raise, we are itching to get back on the ground and demonstrate the inherent value of our asset portfolio,” Kelly said.
“Our upcoming drilling campaign at Gidji will target the high-priority Blackfriars and Highway gold prospects under the Gidji Paleochannel, which have not yet been tested with deeper drilling.”
Multiple major gold mines and processing plants surround the Gidji joint venture project.
The Blackfriars prospect has a 1.3-kilometre aircore anomaly. Aircore drilling returned multiple results which ended in 11.79 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold at 1 metre and 6 g/t of silver.
The Highway prospect revealed multiple results including a best result of 2.95 g/t silver at 4 metres in GJAC721.
Miramar will conduct a reverse circulation (RC) drilling programme, comprising of 10 to 12 holes, approximately 2,500 metres to 3,000 metres, testing both Blackfriars and Highway targets.
The company is also planning an auger drilling campaign to test the main Joy Helen prospect, which will be the first drilling at the project since shallow drilling was completed in 1964.
The drilling campaign is scheduled to commence late in the first quarter of 2026, following completion of the Gidji drilling programme.
“We also have multiple options to monetise any discovery at Gidji given the proximity to infrastructure including several gold process plants,” Kelly said.
“In addition, recent gains in the silver price mean the high-grade silver results we have obtained from rock chip sampling at Chain Pool makes this project ever more valuable and we look forward to the inaugural drilling program later in Q1.”
